Care Instructions

Jewelry Care

Like most delicate things with their own history, these pieces need to be taken care of. To help your KARO KORU pieces last, treat them gently.Take them off before showering or swim and avoid contact with cosmetics and perfume to help them live a long life.

Vintage & Recycled

All the beads, pearls, glassware, mohair are either vintage, recycled, dead stock, or repurposed to minimize additional environmental impact. On rare occasions, newly manufactured materials are used in our designs and we make our best efforts to minimize their use as we strive to be as sustainable as our materials permit.

No Fast Fashion

Our entire environmental philosophy is based on our knowledge of the high level of waste the fashion industry creates. Karo Koru isn’t fast fashion. While we make our best efforts to predominantly use vintage and up-cycled materials, some of our materials, (clasps, locks, chains, and the occasional glassware/bead) are new. It's an impossible challenge to avoid. However, we stand proudly in the knowledge that we've made every effort to forgo and offset our footprint and be as gentle on the planet as we can be.

About us

How Karo Koru Started

As the global pandemic put my career as a Make-Up Artist on pause, I had the opportunity to reconnect with the things I loved doing but never had time for.

Pottery, painting, knitting, and making jewelry. What began as arts and crafts with my son evolved into a beautiful diversion while staying safe at home. Each piece is wholly unique, made in my little home studio in Los Angeles.

Sustainability

Our earth-first philosophy inspires us to prioritize sustainability. That begins at the source.

All the beads, pearls, glassware, mohair, are either vintage, recycled, dead stock, and/or re-purposed. However, on occasion, newly manufactured materials have to be used and we make our best efforts to minimize their use as we strive to be as sustainable as our materials permit.

Carbon Neutral

We strive to be carbon neutral and offset our footprint through our practices. We are constantly evaluating our sourcing, manufacturing, and shipping procedures to find ways to remain as sustainable as possible.
